Countess Markievicz – A3 Poster

To celebrate the centenary of the 1916 Rising, Fotofix has produced a unique range of A3 posters – an ideal gift for any history enthusiast. Countess Constance Markievicz was an Irish Sinn Féin and Fianna Fáil politician, revolutionary nationalist, suffragette and socialist. This poster shows a quote which is taken from a speech she made to the Irish Women’s Franchise League, Dublin in October 1915.

” .. dress suitably in short skirts and strong boots, leave your jewels and gold wands in the bank, and buy a revolver ..”

During the 1916 Rising, Countess Markievicz was appointed second in command to Michael Mallin at St. Stephen’s Green.

The poster comes with a short biography and is printed to the highest quality. Posters can be posted internationally and are normally dispatched within 1-3 days if in stock.
