Description
To celebrate the centenary of the 1916 Rising, Fotofix has produced a unique range of A3 posters – an ideal gift for any history enthusiast. James Connolly was a revolutionary socialist, trade union leader and a political theorist. He was one of the leaders of the Easter Rising in 1916 and one of 7 signatories on the Irish Proclamation. Connolly was instrumental in establishing the Irish Citizen Army in 1913 and he led this army alongside the Irish Volunteers on Easter Monday, 1916. The ICA banner depicted the Plough and the Stars, the significance of which can be understood in one of Connolly’s most famous quotes:
“The Irish people will only be free, when they own everything from the plough to the stars”
The poster comes with a short biography and is printed to the highest quality. Posters can be posted internationally and are normally dispatched within 1-3 days if in stock.
