The 7 signatories of the 1916 Proclamation were Thomas James Clarke, Séan MacDiarmada, Thomas MacDonagh, Pádraig Pearse, Éamonn Ceannt, James Connolly and Joseph Plunkett. The Proclamation that they signed set out their aspirations, not just for freedom from British rule, but to create an Ireland where all people could be free to accomplish their potential regardless of their wealth, class, gender or religion. They were all executed by the British Military for their involvement in the 1916 Easter Rising.
